Notes:
If your installation is non-standard, or you need information on using
the Unix installation utility Easyadm, refer to the additional
information outlined in the Easyadm
Reference.
Easyadm ensures trouble-free board configuration
because the selected configuration is validated, so the UNIX re-build
works the first time. The board setup procedure is also simplified.
The correct switch settings are displayed for EasyIO boards with switches.
Installing
EasyIO Software
On SVR4 systems including UnixWare and Solaris,
before you install EasyIO you must first install Streams (if not already
installed). If you are running TCP/IP, then Streams will already be
installed. With UnixWare 2.0, ISA boards must be installed
using the EISA configuration utility.
For example, to install Streams on a SCO Unix
system, type mkdev streams at the root prompt, re-link the kernel, and
reboot the system.
On Solaris systems, you must remove any
previous version of the ATA driver before installing the new driver.
The Software is composed of two parts:
- The Drivers
- The Configuration Manager (easyadm)
